WHAT IS A LION?
Lions are dedicated men and women who VOLUNTEER their time to humanitarian causes in their local and world communities!  By conducting service projects and raising funds, LIONS strive to help those in need, wherever the need exists.  The LIONS motto "WE SERVE" is not only a motto, but our definition and philosophy for life!   Membership in a Lions Club is by invitation.  Clubs meet at least twice a month and elect officers annually.  The association is governed by an international board of directors, elected by Lions from around the world at their International Convention.

The Enosburg Falls Lions Club organizes the Vermont Dairy Festival, which is traditionally held on the first weekend of June.

This year, 2003, is no exception.  The Enosburg Falls Lions club is proud to continue with this festival, marking its 47th anniversary.

the Lions Club, along with many fine businesses, organizations, groups, community leaders, and dedicated individuals work for months before the festival kicks off to assure its success.

The Lions Club is a community based organization, who's motto is "WE SERVE".

The Enosburg Falls lions Club lives this motto not only by funding various requests for money, but also by the labor donated by its members on community projects.

The Vermont Dairy Festival is the Enosburg falls Lions Club premier source of income.  The proceeds received from this Festival is disbursed into the community, in many forms.

For example, within the previous 10 month period, the Enosburg Falls Lions Club has paid out approximately $6,500 in various requests;  Some of the beneficiaries of these monies were:  Schools in the Sheldon, Bakersfield, Enosburg areas, various scholarships, the Cub Scouts, Lions Quest, Austine Camp for the Blind,  purchasing or assisting with the purchase of eyeglasses and hearing aids for persons in need.

During the Great Ice Storm of '98, the Enosburg Falls Lions Club assisted our Canadian neighbors in the Cowansville, PQ with a substantial donation of non-perishable foods for that communities food shelf.

The Lions Club also financially helps in community projects, such as helping purchase food for the local Red Cross blood drawings, Project Graduation, we pay the Town Library monthly telephone bill, and we help support summertime baseball teams, just to name a few.

The flooding which hit the Montgomery area in July, 1997 resulted in Enosburg Falls Lions Club working in a relief effort, along with members from the Enosburg Falls National Guard, and many other civic minded individuals,   offering aid to the residents of the flooded area.

Therefore, in the final analysis, a successful Vermont Dairy Festival not only does the community of Enosburg Falls proud, but also financially enables the Lions Club to continue its tradition of supporting individuals, organizations, groups and community projects.

Thank you for your continued support of the Enosburg Falls Lions Club!
